Lycopene is helpful because inside each cell there is a small chromosome with a tail, let’s say. If the tail is short, the cell has a short lifespan; once it dies, another wrinkle is added to the team.

If the tail is long, the cell has a long lifespan and your skin will stay younger longer. Essentially, the lycopene helps to get rid of the faulty, short-tailed cells and then create new ones by increasing oxygen flow to your skin’s cells.

Carrots, pumpkins, sweet potatoes and mangos are all fantastic sources of beta-carotene, and your skin needs beta-carotene to stay hydrated. It also protects the Vitamin C in our bodies from oxidation, which then lets us have nice, hydrated skin. If there is a lack of beta-carotene, the skin dries up, cells die, and wrinkles are formed.
